I'm back at the gym this week!
I got so antsy with that kidney infection. Part of it is just allowing time for healing - which means I missed a solid week of workouts. This week I'm trying to make it through my workouts, as planned.
Photo to the right: this morning ~4:15am. Arm day.
I had a body comp done yesterday. I'm down to 179.6lbs - which is less than where I was at the end of my cut for the June non-comp show: Wine & Muscle Showcase. Since I lost about 10 lbs during the cut for that show, I'm hoping to do the same with the September IPL Golden Heart Classic. I've heard that we're getting competitors from Dillingham, Dutch Harbor, Anchorage, Kenai, Delta Junction, and of course the Fairbanks and North Pole areas. I know most people don't know distances in Alaska. Anchorage is roughly 350 miles south of Fairbanks. Kenai is another 125 miles past Anchorage. Dutch Harbor is about 1000 miles from Fairbanks. Dillingham to Fairbanks is roughly 500 miles. You can't drive from Dutch Harbor or Dillingham to Fairbanks - you have to fly. I'm just impressed that people are coming from so far. It's exciting!
At Sunday's posing practice, some of the women who have competed in NPC or IFBB shows were talking about how catty people can be. The Fairbanks crowd is totally NOT catty. We're pretty supportive of each other. If you need help with posing all you have to do is ask. Its one of the great things about Fairbanks (I've heard Anchorage gets catty, but that's hearsay). We have free posing clinics at certain times of the year. There are enough bodybuilding competitors that year-round you can find assistance.
